San Diego Dance Meetings

The San Diego Dances of Universal Peace circle meets four times a year.

We celebrate the diversity and the unity of the spiritual traditions of the world through sacred chant, song, and simple, uplifting dances.  

Participants report these joyous, easy-to-learn circle dances are a transformative spiritual practice, opening the heart, bringing joy, meditative awareness, a feeling of community, and a deep sense of inner peace.

LEAPYEAR Program:The Sufi-inspired LEAPYEAR program is looking for students who would like to travel and learn for 7 months in 2018. Mendocino Sufi Youth Retreat director Laurel Marks and her partner Phil Aspinall  work at LEAPNOW and help students to align their spiritual, inner journey with the outer path of service and international travel. 
As a LEAPYEAR student, you will travel with a group to India or Central America, do a 3 month individual internship abroad that you choose from 6000+ options in 126 countries, and do four inner-directed retreats in California that help pave the way into conscious adulthood. LEAPYEAR students complete a full year of college between February and August, without sitting in a classroom. Dances of Universal Peace
        connecting hearts around the world.......

The Dances of Universal Peace are heart-opening, joyous and meditative circle dances using chants, mantras and sacred phrases from spiritual traditions around the world.   The dances are a form of body prayer that uses sacred phrases, simple movements, mantras and music to inspire and awaken participants, and to  ultimately develop the peace that surpasses understanding.

Some of the traditions honored by these joyous and heartfelt dances are Buddhist, Celtic, Christian, Goddess, Hindu, Islamic, Jewish, Native American, Sufi, Universalist, and Zoroastrian.

No musical or dance experience of any kind is required and everyone is welcome to join in.

Church address is 4190 Front St, San Diego, CA  92103, but some GPS have trouble finding this address.  Go to UCSD Medical Center on West Arbor Drive. The entrance to the church parking lot is on West Arbor Drive, on the left, directly across the street from UCSD Medical Center.  You will see the church on your right as you drive into the parking lot.
